Narrative description of Project

The Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has been entrusted with the development and construction of “Central Square”. The Central Square is proposed on the lines of great cities such as the Times Square in New York and London’s Trafalgar Square. The project also includes reviving the beauty of the Buckingham Canal. The total extent of land is about 65,620 SMT. Extending from Rippon building side to Chennai central station. The Central Square shall be developed as state-of the art well landscaped pedestrian plaza, assuring to decongest Poonamallee High Road and surrounding areas, take pedestrians underground and become a seamless transit hub and commercial centre. The project comprises of development of 6 level underground parking with proposed 35 Storied (150 MT) high commercial building. The estimated built up area of proposed development is 20 Lakh SQFT (200000 SQMT)
