Narrative description of Project

Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), a world leader in engineering education and research, desired to develop Regional Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Center of Excellence (CoE) in Kigali, Rwanda, in partnership with the Government of Rwanda. The Government of Rwanda had received a loan from African Development Bank (AfDB) for development of the Regional Information Communication Technologies Centre of Excellence (RICTCoE). In an open international bid competition VSPL was awarded with the mandate of preparing detailed Architecture and Engineering design for a State-of-the-art Campus building, catering to more than 500 students. The campus spreads over an area of 37 acre (15 Ha) with a total built up area of 6000 SQMT (60000 SQFT). The campus comprises of classrooms, laboratories, library, faculty and staff rooms, conference room, auditorium, amphitheater, fitness center, students hostel, faculty housing and other recreational facilities.
