Client: National Highway Authority of India
MoRTH has undertaken a Logistics Efficiency Enhancement Programme (LEEP) initiative to improve the efficiency of logistics in India which was the genesis of approval of Bharatmala Pariyojana. Development of Multi-Modal Logistics Parks (MMLPs) is one of the key solution themes under the LEEP initiatives. To implement this theme, MoRTH is mandated to undertake development of 35 MMLPs which will enable reduction of transportation costs as well as reduce CO2 emissions.
Logistic parks with Rail & Road connectivity enable multimodal freight transportation. This aids freight transportation on long haul (between hubs) to shift from Road to Rail, thereby reducing the freight cost. Under the above mandate of Bharatmala Pariyojana, Muddalinganahalli near Dabaspet has been selected as the proposed site for development of Multi Modal Logistic Park in the Karnataka Region.
