Narrative description of Project

Cochin SEZ is a multi-product Special Economic Zone spread over 103 acres of land located in Kochi, in the State of Kerala. The project aims at preparation of a Comprehensive Master Plan for Cochin Special Economic Zone (SEZ) considering the future development of the Zone in the next 30 years for CSEZ Authority, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.

The broad scope of work includes:

• Understanding Regional context and performing Site Analysis – Land, existing Infrastructure, external linkages

• Undertaken Surveys and Investigations – Topographical, Geo-technical and Underground Utility Survey

• Preparation of Base Map

• Analysis of the Existing Situation

• Performed Market Study Assessment for deriving Product Mix

• Conducted primary surveys such as Industrial Surveys and User Surveys

• Future forecasts for demand, use and growth of infrastructure and land utilization

• Identification of gaps/incongruities between the existing available infrastructures and expected future requirements

• Conducted Capacity Building Workshops for the CSEZ Authority for participation in Master Plan preparation process and in successful implementation of the Master Plan.

• Preparation of a comprehensive Master Plan for establishment of new facilities and redevelopment of existing structures

• Development of Design Imageability Plan covering Urban Design Elements, Architectural Elements and Landscape Architectural Elements

• Innovations and concepts in basic facilities

• Development of Pilot Projects

• Preparation of Development Guidelines such as Urban Design Guidelines to comply with Master Plan Vision and Strategies

• Integrated infrastructure proposal based on projected population and demand with schematic network and distribution facilities for the following services

  • Water Supply

  • Road and Drainage

  • Sewerage System

  • Power supply

• Block cost estimates

• Project Implementation Strategy with Resettlement Strategy and Phasing.
